Crowdfunding platform to help Latina-focused non-profits earn needed dollars
GritoBlast! In this volatile political climate, the nation has witnessed a rollback of rights, safeguards and protections that most thought were the standard going forward. One of the hardest hit groups is women. More than ever it’s important to preserve women’s rights and ensure those who advocate for Latinas receive the necessary financial support to provide service to their clients.
Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) know that one of the biggest obstacles women’s organizations face is a lack of funds. Because of this, HIP is launching the third annual #GOMujeres campaign, a digital movement in which nonprofits, foundations, and individual donors come together to invest in projects that defend the rights and promote the wellbeing of Latina women and girls throughout the Americas.
Held at the end of November to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (Nov. 25) and the global day of generosity, #GivingTuesday (Nov. 28), #GOMujeres will see dozens of female-focused organizations run crowdfunding campaigns on the HIPGive platform.
By participating in #GOMujeres, nonprofits of all sizes can:
- Quickly create and launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for their work
- Raise awareness about the importance of their work in the context of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (November 25) and #GivingTuesday (November 28)
- Gain visibility as HIP spreads the word about the campaign within the wider philanthropic community
For organizations that work in Mexico, HIPGive is providing $5,000 USD to match donations they receive via HIPGive on #GivingTuesday.
