Study: Latina doctoral student seeks to interview LGBT Latina immigrant returnees to Mexico

GritoBlast! — Sandibel Borges is a doctoral student at the University of California, Santa Barbara. This Latina immigrant is working on an oral history project exploring the experiences of Latin American gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender women.

For her study, Borges is interested in interviewing women who migrated to the United States and returned to Mexico. She is also inclusive of “folks who are Afro-descedants, Indigenous, Asian-Latinos, etc.– folks who have different ethnic identities, and who might not only identify as mestizos.”

If you would like more information or are interested — or know someone who may be interested — in participating in the study send an email to Sandibel Borges at sborges@umail.ucsb.edu.

All interviews are confidential.
