Miami Book Fair International to reach thousands more via PBS live streaming
GritoBlast! — The nation’s largest book fair, the Miami Book Fair International, will celebrate its 31st year in November.
Presented by The Center for Literature and Theatre at Miami Dade College (MDC), the event runs Nov. 16-23 at MDC’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami.
For eight days, the Miami Book Fair International will immerse an estimated 200,000 fairgoers into cultural and educational panels and events that will feature more than 500 authors. Events include the return of the Evening With… Series, which for six uninterrupted days hosts readings by world-renowned authors; the return of Ibero-American Authors; Miami Writer’s Institute; Comic Galaxy; The Kitchen; and Generation Genius Days.
However, this year, you don’t have to be in Miami to enjoy the literary festivities.
PBS plans to stream live coverage of three days of the event.
PBS.org, local Miami station websites and BookViewNow.org, among others, will stream the live webcast, from 4 to 9 p.m. Nov. 21 and noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 22 and 23. World Channel will broadcast half-hour daily highlight programs on three evenings.
All coverage will be archived and made available afterward on demand through PBS’s video apps, as well as on the websites.
